It takes a gustsy storyteller to attempt such a film. Kerfeld delivers an abstract story presented through a docile and beautiful landscape…at just six minutes or so, it is at all times intriguing.
– Josh Samford , Rogue Cinema (March 09)
In the end, “Fingers” is something of a classic short film. It pushes the audience to use their heads, rather than relying on only their eyes and ears.
– Corey Light, University News (April 2009)
Art on the Block” is a polished, informative and thought-provoking 20-minute documentary about public art, corporate philanthropy, artistic expression and civic redevelopment. It is a thoroughly professional piece of work. You’d never know it was made by students.
– Robert W. Butler , Kansas City Star (May 2007)
I am writing in regards to Jordan Kerfeld’s Jan. 31 forum piece “University floor-starers need to look up.” Jordan articulates himself exceptionally well. He did the academic research and talked with a professor, someone we can all relate to. Plus, he talked about something that really matters on this campus. What has happened in the opinion section in the past was a bunch of ranting and raving that usually was not backed up credibly. Jordan sounded intelligent. I’m glad he is a part of The University News. And his drawings are phenomenal.
